Family Recovery Support (Overnight)

Job Summary

Monitor the residential center to ensure safety and well-being of residents, staff, and visitors by confirming sign-in/out, conducting searches, and managing access to phones, mail, and visitors. Provide structure and support to residents in early recovery seeking long-term recovery from substance use disorder. Address incoming phone calls in compliance with HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2, track resident chores, and maintain cleanliness of support stations. Wash, dry, and stow linens while ensuring all VOASELA policies and practices are met. Support the team in launching and scaling services, including Child Watch activities, and enact the Emergency Operations Plan during crises. Schedule is rotational with overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts required.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • At least 1 years of experience working with women experiencing substance use disorders
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Novice computer skills
  • Ability to interact with staff at all levels in a respectful manner, remaining flexible, proactive, and task oriented
  • Problem-solving ability, attention to detail, accuracy, flexibility, reliability, and prioritizing skills
  • Must be able to maintain confidentiality per HIPAA and 42 CFR Part 2
  • Must be able to pass a criminal history investigation (not all convictions will exclude candidates from being hired)
  • Must pass drug screening tests as required by agency's policies and procedures
  • Must complete tuberculosis (TB) screening prior to employment and be free from Tuberculosis (TB) in a communicable state via skin testing (or chest exam if recommended by physician)
  • Must be able to maintain First Aid, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and seizure assessment training
  • Current driver's license issued by state of residence
  • Current Vehicle Inspection decal
  • Current vehicle insurance
  • Current vehicle registration in state of residence
  • Satisfactory Motor Vehicle Report
  • Overnight, weekend, and holiday shifts are required
  • Occasional local travel in and around the community

Desired Qualifications

  • (Preferred) Lived experience with a substance use disorder diagnosis with at least 12 months (24-36 months or more preferred) of continuous demonstrated recovery
  • Registered Peer Support Specialist credential preferred
