Job Summary
Deliver one-to-one support and lead group sessions to build trust, teach resilience and assertiveness skills, and promote positive parenting behaviours for prisoners and their families. Work towards service delivery targets, provide information on outcomes achieved, and collaborate with other professionals in partnership delivery. Act as a role model and advocate for families dealing with imprisonment, ensuring their human rights and views are heard at all levels. This fixed-term contract runs until July 2024 and includes a six-month probationary period.
Required Qualifications
- knowledge of the criminal justice system
- awareness of the impact of custody on prisoners and on their children and families
- excellent organisational skills
- excellent communication skills
- ability to work in a challenging environment whilst remaining calm
- ability to act as a role model for volunteers and an ambassador for Pact
- high standards of personal integrity and accountability
- skills to advocate for families dealing with imprisonment
- ability to promote human rights
- ability to ensure needs are considered and views are heard at all levels
- verification of identity
- proven right to work in the UK
- satisfactory references from previous employers covering a 5-year period
- declaration of any unspent criminal convictions
- satisfactory risk assessment
- enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check
- certificate of good conduct from the Police Force of the country of residence (if resided overseas for over 12 months in the past 10 years while aged 18 or over)
