Job Summary
Conduct sports medicine family practice in a Metro Birmingham, Alabama group, managing an average of 20 patients daily with block scheduling that allows up to 50 patients per day during full shifts. Perform pre-cert coordination, utilize hospitalists for coverage, and manage ancillary services including x-ray, injections, physical therapy, and DME. Operate within a 4-5 exam room facility using the Meditouch Health Fusion EMR, serving a patient book established in 1983 across 35% Medicare and 35% Blue Cross populations. Work standard hours from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with Fridays closing at noon, while non-surgical physicians handle almost all phone calls and ER admits are seen the following day.
Required Qualifications
- Sports Medicine Fellowship Trained FM
- BC/BE in Sports Medicine Family Medicine
- Not willing to sponsor a visa
- Must be available for 8 a.m. to 11:30 and 1:30 to 4:30 shifts
- Must be available for Fridays closing at noon
- Must be available for 8 a.m. to 11:30 and 1:30 to 4:30 shifts on Fridays
- Must be available for ER admits at night and seeing patients the next day
- Must be available for group calls
- Must be able to take phone calls
- Must be able to see patients in a block scheduling environment
- Must be able to see an average of 20 patients per day
- Must be able to see up to 50 patients per day in full days
- Must be able to work with Hospitalists
- Must be able to work with pre-cert coordinator
- Must be able to work with shared personnel
- Must be able to work with x-ray ancillaries
- Must be able to work with injections ancillaries
- Must be able to work with PT ancillaries

- Must be able to work in a single specialty group with 5 physicians
- Must be able to replace a retiring doctor
