Job Summary
Coordinate comprehensive health programs for patients and families, including preventative medicine, behavioral sciences, and community health. Examine patients, formulate differential diagnostic plans, order diagnostic testing, and interpret findings to establish treatment and management strategies for complex health problems. Manage family practice services by administering or supervising immunizations, consulting with specialists, and participating in multidisciplinary teams to improve patient care processes. Educate patients and families on health status, maintenance, and management of acute and chronic conditions while maintaining cultural competency with diverse populations. Complete patient EMR documentation, utilize electronic medical records for data collection and e-prescribing, and respond quickly to emergencies in a standard medical office setting. Requires an MD or DO degree, residency completion, unrestricted Delaware license, DEA certificate, and flexibility for irregular hours.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited medical school with a degree of Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) and completion of an accredited residency program
- Board certification in specialty within three (3) years, if newly graduated from residency
- Unrestricted license to practice medicine within the State of Delaware
- Current DEA certificate without restriction
- Current Delaware Controlled Substance Certificate
- Flexibility to work irregular hours and to work with multi-cultural, diverse patient population
- Ability to treat, counsel and educate patients and their families
- Strong desire and ability to serve people
- Pleasant, professional bedside manner and approach to patients and their families
- Ability to respond quickly to emergencies occurring in the Health Center
- Ability to work with ethnically diverse cultures
- Ability to quickly familiarize and adapt to EMR system
- Ability to manage time
- Excellent active listening skills
- Computer use and proficiency
- Must be able to work in a standard medical office setting including use of a computer, and standard office equipment
- Must have ability to read computer screens, printed materials and hearing and speech to communicate in person as well as over the phone
- Must be able to attend meetings or make presentations at various sites when required
- Must be able to lift (up to 50 lbs.)
- Walking or standing may be more than four (4) hours per day

- Bilingual (Spanish/English)
- Ability to converse in French Creole a plus
