Job Summary

Perform a full range of physician services including examining, diagnosing, treating, and prescribing courses of treatment within granted privileges. Provide preventive and health maintenance care through education and counseling, while ordering diagnostic tests and managing referrals as indicated. Direct, perform, or assist in instructing other health care professionals and participate in in-service training for clinic staff adhering to government and professional clinical standards. Maintain current, full, active, and unrestricted licensure to practice medicine. This full-time position is located at MacDill Air Force Base for Distinctive Home & Health Care, serving military installations across the United States.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathy (D.O.)
  • Graduate from an accredited medical school in the United States or Canada
  • Accreditation by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association
  • Accreditation by the Association of American Medical Colleges
  • Accreditation by the Liaison Committee on Medical Education
  • Accreditation by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation of the American Osteopathic Association
  • Accreditation by an accrediting body recognized by the U.S. Department of Education
  • Accreditation by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME)
  • Permanent certification by the Educational Commission for Foreign Medical Graduates (for foreign degrees)
  • Fifth pathway certificate for Americans who completed premedical education in the United States and graduate education in a foreign country
  • Successful completion of the U.S. Medical Licensing Examination
  • Board eligible or board certified as required in the TO
  • Successful completion of an internship and residency program approved by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education or the Committee on Postdoctoral Training of the American Osteopathic Association
  • At least 1 year of supervised experience providing direct service in a clinical setting
  • Current, full, active, and unrestricted license to practice medicine as required in the TO
