Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive primary health care services including health promotion, disease prevention, diagnosis, and management of acute and chronic illnesses. Provide clinical treatment for minor injuries, superficial lesions, and non-complicating fractures while counseling patients on nutrition, addiction prevention, and mental health referrals. Assist the Medical Director in ensuring clinic compliance with standards, supervising medical students, and coordinating care with nurses, mental health practitioners, and external providers. Participate as a member of the clinic's management team and establish referral networks with pharmacies and hospitals. Work in-person Monday through Friday from 8:00am to 5:00pm at Portland locations serving Native American and Alaska Native communities.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program (ACGME or AOA)
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Oregon Medical License or ability to obtain
- Current DEA registration or ability to obtain
- Current CPR card
- Must pass a pre-employment or for cause drug tests
- Must pass criminal background and DMV checks
- Ability to maintain professional boundaries with clients, the community, and other staff members
- Preference in hiring is given to qualified Native Americans in accordance with the Indian Preference Act (Title 25, US Code, Sections 472 and 473)
Desired Qualifications
- Strong interest and experience in prenatal care (up to at least 36 weeks) and newborn care
- Experience working within the Native American/Alaska Native community
