Job Summary
The Family Peer Support Worker provides essential non-clinical support to families of young persons facing mental health or substance use challenges. Responsibilities include sharing lived experiences to validate caregivers, assisting with service navigation, fostering collaborative relationships, and coordinating peer support groups. The role requires lived experience in caregiving, a certificate in a related human/social service field, and strong communication skills. Commitment to non-discrimination and community values is critical.
Required Qualifications
- Certificate in a related human/social service field
- Six months recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
- Lived experience as a caregiver supporting a young person with mental health or substance use challenges
Desired Qualifications
- Strong communication skills
- Cultural humility and understanding of diverse socio-economic and cultural backgrounds
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and social media

- Must have a valid driver's license and access to safe, reliable transportation
