Job Summary
Family Peer Advocate role providing guidance, advocacy, and support to families with children/youth up to age 21 facing MH/SUD challenges. Responsibilities include outreach, information sharing on resources and eligibility, engagement and transition support between service providers, advocacy for family-centered care, empowerment of families, and helping with family integration into communities. Requires strong communication, ability to work with families navigating complex systems, and willingness to disclose lived experience to support others; travel is required. Compensation is $18.00-$20.00 per hour with benefits including health/dental/vision, retirement, PTO, and tuition reimbursement.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; Associates degree preferred
- New York State Credentialed as a Family Peer Advocate (FPA) or provisional certification within 90 days of employment with commitment to obtain full certification
- Minimum of three years demonstrated lived experience as a parent or primary caregiver navigating multiple children through services
- Travel is required; valid NYS Driver’s License
