Family Office Accountant

Job Summary

Maintain accurate books for multiple family entities, including trusts and investment companies, while managing reconciliations, bill pay, and day-to-day bookkeeping. Prepare consolidated financial statements by incorporating reporting from trust companies and investment advisors, then provide records to outside tax professionals for filings. Serve as the primary contact for designated vendors, banks, and advisors, responding to financial questions from family decision-makers. Establish organized digital and physical filing systems for accounting and estate planning documents within SharePoint. Transition additional entities into the family office structure with minimal oversight. This hands-on role requires five years of experience in multi-entity accounting, strong Excel proficiency, and the discretion to handle confidential family information.

Required Qualifications

  • Five or more years of hands-on accounting experience
  • Strong experience with reconciliations, financial statement preparation, bill pay, and tax support
  • Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple entities with minimal oversight
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Advanced discretion and sound judgment when handling confidential family information
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel

Desired Qualifications

  • Family office, private wealth, trust accounting, or multi-entity accounting experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • SharePoint experience
