Job Summary
Conduct comprehensive history and physical examinations for perioperative and primary care patients, assessing normal and abnormal findings. Evaluate and treat acute injuries and illnesses, provide preventive healthcare services, and monitor intervention effectiveness. Order and interpret diagnostic and therapeutic tests, prescribe medications, and implement treatment plans in compliance with federal, state, and Indian Health Service guidelines. Coordinate follow-up services including lab work, imaging, specialist referrals, and appointment scheduling. Manage admissions, transfers, and discharges while collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. Provide patient and family education on health promotion, risk management, and disease prevention. Engage in continuing education, uphold licensure requirements, and participate in quality assurance initiatives. Notify and coordinate with health authorities within 24 hours during public health concerns or critical incidents.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
- Master's or Doctorate in Nursing from an accredited program
- Active and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner (NP) license in the state of California
- DEA registration
- Prescriptive authority in California
- Ability to safely operate and drive a motor vehicle
- Hearing, talking, and good verbal and written communication skills
- Cultural sensitivity and the ability to interact respectfully and effectively with diverse tribal communities
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment TB test
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a background check
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of a drug screening
