Job Summary
Family Nurse Practitioner provides primary medical care to patients of all ages at Seward Community Health Center. Responsibilities include assessing, diagnosing, and treating acute illnesses; managing chronic conditions; preventive and wellness visits; urgent care; interpreting tests; developing treatment plans; collaborating with specialists; maintaining EHR documentation; and educating patients. Requires Alaska NP licensure, graduation from an accredited NP program, DEA license, and 5 years’ primary care experience (3 years in rural care) with emphasis on women's health and pediatric care. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
- Professional license to practice as a NP with current Alaska license, or ability to obtain an Alaska license
- Accreditation from nationally recognized Nurse Practitioner program
- Current DEA license or in application process at time of hire
- Current BLS certification; ACLS, PALS and ATLS certification preferred
- Five years’ minimum work experience in primary care
- Three years’ minimum work experience in rural care
- Experience working in women's health and with children preferred
