Job Summary
Role combines Family Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Immediate Care; part-time (.5 FTE, 20 hours/week) in Olympia Fields, IL. Provides urgent care services including assessment, diagnosis, and development/adjustment of treatment plans appropriate for age and acuity; orders, performs, and interprets diagnostic studies; prescribes pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic interventions; collaborates with an interdisciplinary health care team; escalates for emergent or specialized care when necessary. Maintains accurate documentation in the electronic medical record; participates in quality, safety, and performance initiatives; participates in education/onboarding of new team members; maintains productivity and quality metrics; must demonstrate knowledge of age-specific needs and the ability to provide age-appropriate care. Requires Master’s Degree in Nursing and active APRN licensure with board certification and related prerequisites (DEA, and any Illinois CS license if practicing in Illinois; BLS/ACLS/PALS/NRP as required). This role is within Advocate Health’s Immediate Care services and includes weekend/holiday scheduling as part of the department’s operational needs.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license
- APRN/APRN-FPA/APNP or other APRN license in state of practice
- Active national board certification in area of clinical practice and populations served
- Active DEA registration prior to hire
- Active Illinois Controlled Substance License prior to hire (if Illinois practice)
- Active BLS and/or ACLS, PALS, NRP as required by clinical practice prior to or within 6 months of hire
- Master’s Degree in Nursing
