Job Summary
Perform new patient screenings, yearly physicals, and review medical histories. Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests, then review lab, x-ray, and ED reports to initiate follow-up. Prescribe medications and treatments, manage chronic diseases like hypertension and diabetes, and treat acute illnesses. Conduct gynecological exams, provide well-child care including immunizations, and educate patients on wellness. Collaborate with physicians to develop treatment plans and coordinate care with other providers. Maintain electronic medical records and stay current with medical advancements.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years of experience as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) program
- Current NP or PA license and certification from the appropriate licensing board
- Valid Massachusetts NP or PA License
- Valid Federal DEA and Massachusetts Controlled Substance Registration (MCSR) Licenses
- Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuing medical education (CME)
- Strong problem-solving skills and sound clinical judgment
- Adherence to ethical and legal standards in patient care and medical practice
- Experience in and commitment to working with diverse populations
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently
- Understanding and experience in Ambulatory Medical Care Management
- Competency in basic medical and surgical procedures
