Job Summary
Evaluate and treat patients within the privilege range granted by the PCHS Board, coordinate health promotional activities, and provide patient follow-up to ensure continuity of care. Be a patient advocate while maintaining accurate, complete, and timely documentation in EMR patient charts. Assess grant criteria and incorporate findings into patient encounters. Coordinate care with other health care providers when referrals are necessary, adhering to adopted PCHS community health center standards of care. Work independently at a remote site with supervision and collaboration from a physician. This role supports the mission of strengthening the Central Kenai Peninsula community through accessible, affordable healthcare services including medical, dental, eye care, and behavioral health.
Required Qualifications
- Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program
- Masters degree in nursing
- National Board Certification as a Nurse Practitioner
- Successful completion of a Physician Assistant program
- Masters degree (for PA)
- Current status with NCCPA (National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)
- Active RN & Nurse Practitioner license with the State of Alaska
- Active Physician's Assistant license with the State of Alaska
- Minimum of three years experience in a clinic setting
- The ability to work independently (with supervision and collaboration from a physician) at a remote site
Desired Qualifications
- Bachelor degree (for NP)
