Job Summary
Conduct initial medical histories and physical examinations for patients admitted to the inpatient psychiatric unit. Perform medical treatment follow-ups and evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions. Review laboratory results and imaging to initiate appropriate interventions and provide medical clearance documentation in coordination with psychiatrists and nursing staff. Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including allied health professionals, to address conditions impacting psychiatric treatment. Complete timely documentation in the electronic health record ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and HIPAA. Requires an active unrestricted FNP license in Wisconsin, current DEA registration, and BLS certification. Schedule flexibility includes seven days on and seven days off.
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree or higher from an accredited Family Nurse Practitioner program
- Active, unrestricted FNP license in Wisconsin
- Current DEA registration in Wisconsin
- Current BLS certification
- Experience performing medical H&Ps and managing common medical conditions
- Comfort working with psychiatric and behavioral health patient populations
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- Prior experience in inpatient psychiatric settings
- Prior experience in behavioral health or substance use treatment facilities
- Prior experience in hospital or acute care environments
- Familiarity with medical clearance processes for psychiatric admissions
- Experience working collaboratively with psychiatric providers and nursing teams
- Experience with EHR systems
