Job Summary
Champion the mission and goals of the residency program while ensuring full ACGME accreditation compliance and maintaining a high-quality curriculum aligned with state guidelines. Provide mentorship and oversight to teaching faculty through annual evaluations and professional development, and recruit, retain, and mentor a diverse group of residents. Oversee the residency budget to demonstrate financial stewardship and build collaborative relationships with community-based and academic institutions. Serve as an institutional leader advocating for graduate medical education within Adventist Health Bakersfield and the broader community. Maintain ongoing clinical activity and current medical licensure while fostering an inclusive academic environment.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license
- Board certified in Family Medicine
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in family medicine
- At least 2 years as a core faculty member in an ACGME accredited family medicine residency program
- Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment
- Ongoing clinical activity
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical and administrative experience in graduate medical education, preferably as Program Director, Associate Program Director, Site Director, or Core Faculty
- Demonstrated commitment to resident education, clinical excellence, and fostering an inclusive academic environment
- All required vaccinations, including, but not limited to, measles, mumps, flu, and COVID-19 vaccine
