Job Summary
Champion the mission and goals of the residency program while ensuring full ACGME accreditation compliance and maintaining a high-quality curriculum aligned with state guidelines. Provide mentorship and oversight to teaching faculty, recruit and retain diverse residents, and oversee the residency budget to demonstrate financial stewardship. Build collaborative relationships with community and academic institutions to enhance curriculum and faculty development while serving as an institutional leader for graduate medical education. Maintain ongoing clinical activity and advocate for the program within Adventist Health Bakersfield and the broader community.
Required Qualifications
- Must hold or be eligible for an unrestricted California medical license
- Board certified in Family Medicine
- Graduate of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Minimum of 5 years of clinical experience in family medicine
- At least 2 years as a core faculty member in an ACGME accredited family medicine residency program
- Current medical licensure and appropriate medical staff appointment
- Ongoing clinical activity
- Minimum of 3–5 years of clinical and administrative experience in graduate medical education, preferably as Program Director, Associate Program Director, Site Director, or Core Faculty
- Demonstrated commitment to resident education, clinical excellence, and fostering an inclusive academic environment
- All required vaccinations, including, but not limited to, measles, mumps, flu, and COVID-19 vaccine
