Job Summary
Assume leadership in the absence of the Program Director to ensure continuity of the residency program. Design, monitor, and enhance assigned curricula by setting clear goals and objectives while guiding residents through a comprehensive curriculum. Provide faculty advisory support and leadership to residents and other learners, collaborating on didactic lectures and hands-on curriculum. Contribute to grant-funded activities and support resident quality improvement research projects. Assist in planning orientations, retreats, and CME events, and participate in recruitment, retention, and evaluation of learners. Serve on graduate medical education, clinical competency, and program evaluation committees. Oversee clinical and business activities of the family medicine residency clinic and supervise faculty evaluation and advising work.
Required Qualifications
- Board certification by ABFM in appropriate specialty or subspecialty
- Active CA medical license and DEA certification
- Annual CPR certification
- Graduation from an accredited medical school with completion of a Residency program
- Minimum of two years of documented educational and/or administrative experience as a faculty member in a residency program or college of medicine
- Strong time management and communication skills
- Attitudinally suited to lead and contribute to a training program
- Familiarity with ACGME regulations
- Experience in clinical practice and teaching in the specialty
- Commitment to ongoing CME requirements of the ACGME
- All required vaccinations, including measles, mumps, flu, and COVID-19 vaccine
- California licensed or eligible and meet the hospital's medical staff credentialing standards
