Family Medicine Provider

Job Summary

Conduct patient interviews, physical examinations, and health assessments to diagnose and treat acute and chronic conditions across all age groups. Provide preventive care services including screenings, vaccinations, and lifestyle education, while managing complex chronic diseases like diabetes and hypertension. Develop treatment plans, prescribe medications, and interpret laboratory and imaging studies. Maintain accurate electronic medical records and collaborate with specialists, nurses, and community outreach teams to coordinate population health priorities. Offer culturally sensitive counseling and participate in community wellness events. This role reports to the Director of Clinical Operations within a close-knit tribal community setting. Candidates must be board certified or eligible in Family Medicine with a valid South Carolina medical license.

Required Qualifications

  • Experience in primary care or family medicine setting with pediatric, adult and geriatrics
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical School (MD/DO)
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine (M.D./D.O.)
  • Valid, active, and unrestricted South Carolina medical license (or ability to obtain)
  • DEA license and prescriptive authority for control substances
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record and be insurable under the Tribe's insurance policy
  • Experience of strong interest in working with Native American/tribal communities
  • Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient management skills across pediatric, adult, and geriatric populations, with a focus on culturally competent, patient-centered care
  • Commitment to patient-centered, culturally competent care and respect for traditional health practices
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) (e.g., Epic, Athena, Cerner)
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, problem-solving skills with a collaborative, team-oriented approach
  • Background checks and drug screening are requirements for employment
  • May include extended hours, evenings, weekends, or on-call responsibilities
  • Lifting or assisting patients, typically up to 50 lbs
  • Bending, stooping, and reaching during patient exams
  • Visual acuity for reading charts, examining patients, and using diagnostic tools
  • Ability to respond quickly in urgent or emergency situations
  • Wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) as needed

Desired Qualifications

  • Occasional telemedicine work from office or remote settings
