Job Summary
Provide the highest-quality health care to Soldiers, family members, retirees, and eligible beneficiaries in both inpatient and outpatient environments, covering pre- and post-operative care. Support humanitarian missions, contingency operations, and peacetime efforts to conserve the U.S. Army's fighting strength while maintaining a focus on patient care first. Requirements include a Doctor of medicine or osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school, a current U.S. license to practice, eligibility for board certification, and completion of at least one year of graduate medical education. Applicants must be U.S. citizens, hold permanent U.S. residency, and be between 21 and 42 years of age. Eligible candidates may receive Health Professions special pay, STRAP stipends, loan repayment benefits, and access to commissary and post exchange privileges.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of medicine or doctor of osteopathy degree from an accredited U.S. school of medicine or osteopathy; foreign graduates may apply with permanent certificate from the Educational Council of Foreign Medical Graduates
- Current license to practice medicine in the United States, District of Columbia or Puerto Rico
- Eligibility for board certification
- Completion of at least one year of an approved graduate medical education internship
- Between 21 and 42 years of age (waivers granted on a case-by-case basis)
- U.S. citizenship
- Permanent U.S. residency
