Job Summary
Provide 24/7 medical care to ACS adolescents across detention sites, school-based centers, and group homes, prioritizing safety and security. Take patient histories, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans using diagnostic data. Perform complete well-care and gynecological examinations, write prescriptions, and administer immunizations as needed. Complete Court Orders and mandated paperwork, make referrals to other agencies, and assist with phlebotomy to ensure smooth patient flow. Provide health education on preventive medicine, chronic diseases, and parenting, while participating in case conferences and protocol development. This role supports the HEAL Program's transition to becoming the primary provider of medical services to young people in City custody.
Required Qualifications
- Current New York State Physician registration
- Board Certification in Family Medicine
- Minimum three years related experience in family, pediatric, adolescent urban populations
- Must pass all appropriate screenings to work in a secured setting with young people
