Job Summary
Provide comprehensive primary care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic conditions including hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. Address urgent and walk-in medical needs while performing full physical examinations, ordering diagnostic tests, and prescribing medications in accordance with Mississippi regulations. Develop individualized care plans for complex chronic conditions and deliver preventive services such as immunizations and screenings. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including nurses and behavioral health staff to ensure seamless patient care and facilitate timely specialist referrals. Maintain accurate electronic health records and participate in community health outreach programs serving underserved populations in the Mississippi Delta.
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an ACGME-accredited Family Medicine residency program
- Current, valid medical license to practice as a Family Physician in the State of Mississippi, or eligibility to obtain prior to start date
- Board certification or board eligibility in Family Medicine (ABFM or AOBFP)
- Current DEA registration or eligibility to obtain
- Current BLS certification
- Experience with Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
- Strong diagnostic reasoning and the ability to manage complex, multi-system patients within the scope of family medicine
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage empathetically with a diverse and often vulnerable patient population
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with underserved, rural, or culturally diverse populations, with sensitivity to the unique health challenges of the Mississippi Delta
- Ability to think critically and adapt clinical approaches in a resource-variable, community health setting
- Proven ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care
Desired Qualifications
- ACLS certification
- A minimum of one (1) year of post-residency clinical experience in a primary care or outpatient setting
- Prior experience working in a Federally Qualified Health Center, rural health setting, or with underserved populations
- NextGen or similar platforms
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
- Familiarity with telehealth/virtual care platforms
- Proficiency in a second language common to the local Delta region
