Job Summary
Provide comprehensive family medicine services, including routine check-ups, health screenings, immunizations, and preventive care for patients of all ages. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic conditions such as hypertension, diabetes, and respiratory infections while ordering, interpreting, and analyzing diagnostic tests. Prescribe medications, develop individualized treatment plans, and educate patients and families on disease prevention and lifestyle modifications in both English and Bengali. Coordinate care with specialists within the multi-specialty practice and maintain accurate documentation in electronic medical records. Deliver culturally competent care that respects the language, beliefs, and practices of Bengali-speaking patients and their families.
Required Qualifications
- MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
- Completion of an accredited Family Medicine residency program
- New York State medical license
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Family Medicine
- Must be bilingual in Bengali or have relevant experience supporting Bengali-speaking or comparable communities
- Proficient in performing physical examinations
- Proficient in ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests
- Proficient in prescribing medications
- Proficient in utilizing electronic health records
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in both English and Bengali
- Strong clinical judgment
- Cultural competence
- Empathy
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
- Must be available for weekend shifts (1-2 Saturdays per month)
