Job Summary
Assists in evaluation and treatment of patients as a Family Medicine Nurse Practitioner in an Emory Healthcare primary care clinic. Responsibilities include documenting care in medical records, interviewing patients and obtaining histories, performing physical examinations and specialized procedures under physician supervision (e.g., cast application, wound suturing, dressing changes), assisting physicians in diagnosing medical problems, developing care plans, and prescribing treatment. Minimum qualifications include completion of an accredited NP program or PA program, current Georgia license as an advanced practice nurse with ANCC certification or equivalent, or PA certification (NCCPA), and BLS (ACLS may be required in some areas). Requires at least 2 years of specific primary care experience and potential eligibility for an annual incentive plan and productivity bonuses; benefits include student loan repayment and paid parental leave.
Required Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program
- Currently licensed as an advanced practice nurse in the state of Georgia by the Georgia Board of Nursing and certified as a Nurse Practitioner by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or equivalent body, or Certified as a Physician's Assistant by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
- Licensed as appropriate in the state of Georgia
- May require at least one year of direct experience in one or more high acuity clinical specialties
- American Heart Association BLS and Healthcare Provider certifications required. ACLS may be required in some areas.
