Job Summary
Conduct direct patient care in the Family Medicine Residency Clinic and on the inpatient service at Valleywise Health Medical Center while supervising residents and students. Deliver didactic lectures, review clinical rotation performance, and provide mentorship and letters of recommendation for students matching into the program. Participate in scholarly activities, staff meetings, quality improvement, and peer review processes. Serve on Creighton/DMG committees as assigned and develop curriculum in compliance with ACGME requirements. Provide night and weekend call service with proctoring available. Report to the Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency Program.
Required Qualifications
- strong commitment to graduate medical education, teaching and mentoring residents and medical students in all aspects of Family Medicine
- direct patient care
- resident, and medical student teaching
- precepting
- curriculum development
- administrative and scholarly activities in compliance with ACGME requirements
- Night and weekend call service
- D.O. or M.D. degree
- current unrestricted license to practice in the State of Arizona
- current DEA license for schedule 2-5 drug classes
- be insurable for medical liability coverage
- Board eligibility or certification in Family Medicine specialty
- collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit
- desire to work in multidisciplinary and inter-professional teams
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
