Job Summary
Licensed Family and Marriage Counselor needed for part-time/contract role in the Chicago area. Provide individual, couples, and family therapy, develop and implement tailored treatment plans, maintain clinical documentation, and deliver crisis intervention as needed. Responsibilities include facilitating group counseling and educational workshops on conflict resolution, parenting, and relationship-building; collaborating with other mental health professionals and community partners; and engaging in community outreach to promote services and build referral relationships. Requirements include a Master’s degree in a related field, active Illinois licensure (LMFT/LCPC/LCSW or equivalent), 2–3 years of direct counseling experience in family or marriage therapy, strong communication skills, and knowledge of evidence-based modalities (CBT, EFT, Solution-Focused Therapy). Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications is expected. The organization operates in IL with in-person and online services and emphasizes an entrepreneurial, community-focused culture.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, or a related field
- Active Illinois licensure (LMFT, LCPC, LCSW, or equivalent)
- 2–3 years of direct counseling experience in family or marriage therapy
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to work with diverse populations and cultural backgrounds
- Knowledge of evidence-based therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, EFT, or Solution-Focused Therapy)
- Proficiency with electronic health records and basic computer applications
