Job Summary
Provide information and resources to families within Loudoun County schools; serve as a first contact and resource for families seeking information about school programs, community resources, and basic needs; facilitate family engagement and participation in the child’s education; assist families with navigating school technology (ParentVUE, Schoology, Permission Click, email); refer families to LCPS programs and community organizations (free & reduced meals, McKinney-Vento, ParentVUE verification, etc.); educate families on school policies and processes; disseminate information about school and community events, programs, and initiatives; arrange interpreters for meetings and events; collaborate with school staff to ensure wraparound support for families and students; promote an equitable, welcoming environment for learners and families of diverse backgrounds.
Required Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds
- Experience assisting students, families, or clients with resource navigation
- Effective oral and written communication skills
- Ability to relate well to people of all ethnic groups
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to travel between work sites or other locations throughout the day as required to meet staffing or operational needs
