Family Learning Child Care Worker - (2025-2026) Teen Parent Services

Under general supervision, assists MPS program staff and school personnel with child care programs for children of MPS student parents; leads child care and educational programs, plans activities, supervises children, coordinates parent communication and maintains program records. Assist MPS staff to deliver age-appropriate curriculum in MPS child care programs to meet the social, emotional, and intellectual needs of the children of student parents. Create a safe, nurturing, educational and recreational experience; supervise and facilitate positive interactions between parent and child. Observe and report children’s developmental progress and health; ensure classrooms promote learning in a safe environment. Support students in learning and recreational programs; reinforce positive behavior; provide individual assistance and promote English language communications. Deliver classroom and recreational services; assist with attendance, tasks, clerical duties, behavior management, and classroom setup; help develop and communicate curriculum and event schedules. Provide customer service to parents/guardians; assist with parenting skills and developmental issues; explain school rules. Coordinate the work of Assistant Child Care Workers and volunteers; perform office duties and maintain records. Knowledge of Minnesota licensing guidelines and safety rules. This role may require First Aid/CPR and other health and safety training. Final appointment contingent upon background check.
