Job Summary
Determine client eligibility and provide full legal representation for survivors of domestic violence, including advice, investigation, negotiation, and court appearances across a twelve-county service area. Manage an active caseload by preparing pleadings, conducting discovery, and engaging in litigation with advanced advocacy skills. Perform legal research using Westlaw and Florida Family Law Software while collaborating with paralegals, attorneys, and community partners to develop resources and present to the public. Recruit and support private attorneys in pro bono programs and travel as needed for client representation and authorized training. Submit all required reports, timekeeping, and expenses promptly in accordance with program policies and the Florida Rules of Professional Conduct.
Required Qualifications
- Member in good standing of The Florida Bar
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Use of own automobile
- Proof of insurance necessary to travel within and occasionally, outside of, our 12-county service area
- Must be a member in good standing of The Florida Bar
- Must have a demonstrable commitment to understanding and addressing issues of low-income clients
- Must maintain professional and legal knowledge through reading and continuing education
- Must be computer and technology literate specifically in using Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be computer and technology literate specifically in using legal research including use of computer-based databases
- Must be computer and technology literate specifically in using additional legal software
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
- Must be a member in good standing of The Florida Bar
- Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times
