Job Summary
Maintain and organize client files, draft and edit legal documents, and file papers with courts. Manage attorney caseloads through scheduling and prioritization, coordinate discovery by drafting and calendaring documents, and research statutes and case law. Assist in trial preparation, screen calls and review mail, and answer telephone inquiries while greeting clients. Requires two years of family law experience, proficiency in ProDoc and E-filing, and a Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Starting salary is $28/hr with 401(k) matching, health insurance, and paid time off for this full-time, Monday through Friday role.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
- Two years of full-time experience working as a legal assistant or paralegal in family law
- Knowledge of general office practices
- Skill in handling multiple tasks, prioritizing, and meeting deadlines
- Demonstrated skill in effective oral and written communication
- Skill in exercising sound judgment and effective decision making
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, ProDoc, and E-filing
- Paralegal certificate and two additional years of experience (substitutable for degree)
