Job Summary
Manage family law matters from intake through resolution, handling divorce, custody, child support, maintenance, paternity, and restraining order cases. Advise clients on legal strategy, risk, and costs while drafting pleadings, motions, discovery, and settlement documents. Appear in court for hearings and conferences, negotiate settlements, and advocate effectively in contested litigation. Maintain strong client communication and collaborate with leadership to support excellent outcomes. Work collaboratively with the Attorney, Paralegal, Client Advocate, and Sales teams. Meet a minimum billable expectation of 120 hours per month. This role offers a balanced pace within a boutique firm recognized as an Inc. 5000 fastest-growing company.
Required Qualifications
- at least 2 years of family law experience
- licensed, or clearly eligible to practice, in Wisconsin
- 3+ years of family law attorney experience
- Strong experience handling divorce, custody, child support, and related domestic matters
- Ability to manage cases with a high level of independence
- Strong drafting, advocacy, and client communication skills
- Courtroom and litigation experience
- Wisconsin bar admission
- Mediation experience
- Professional, empathetic, and client-service-oriented approach
- Meet a minimum billable expectation of 120 hours per month
