Job Summary
Facilitate family engagement and academic support by serving as a direct liaison between the school, families, and community partners. Advise parents and guardians on student progress, expectations, and goals while translating information between families and school staff in English and Spanish. Collaborate with counselors, teachers, and community agencies to improve student outcomes and reinforce classroom goals within the home environment. Support outreach efforts for district-wide events and monitor student activities across classrooms, lunch, and school grounds. Maintain regular attendance for a 7-hour daily schedule spanning 193 days, with flexibility required for after-school and evening events.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree/two years of college (72 college credits) or passing grade on CBEST or equivalent rigorous test
- Bilingual English/Spanish skills
- Valid driver's license
- Demonstrated ability to work cooperatively with middle school staff, students, and parents
- Successful history of dealing with issues of a confidential nature
- Prior experience working in a Migrant Education Program
- Satisfactory results of drug screening tests for any illegal drug or substance classified in Schedules I through V
- ODE Fingerprinting and background clearance
- Nationwide criminal history verification - a background check for any convictions directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the position
