Job Summary
Assess and analyse court applications involving child protection and welfare concerns, completing high-quality assessments and case analysis for children and families. Undertake direct work with children to ensure their voice is heard throughout proceedings while providing advice and recommendations to courts and Local Authorities regarding safeguarding matters. Prepare detailed reports and present oral evidence in court, advocating for the best interests of children within the family justice system. Work collaboratively with families, legal professionals, and partner agencies to negotiate effectively and achieve positive outcomes, managing a high-volume caseload while meeting statutory and court deadlines. Maintain accurate case records and utilise IT systems effectively.
Required Qualifications
- Qualified Social Worker with a recognised Social Work qualification
- Registration with Social Work England
- Significant experience in children's social work and safeguarding
- Strong court work experience
- Proven ability to complete high-quality assessments and case analysis
- Experience providing oral evidence in court
- Excellent report writing and communication skills
- Strong negotiation and partnership-working abilities
- Ability to work independently, prioritise workload, and meet deadlines
- Competent IT and organisational skills
