Job Summary
Family Consumer Science Teacher at ECHS responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction in family and consumer sciences, planning and developing instructional materials, presenting accurate content, connecting concepts to real-world applications, planning and assessing student progress, maintaining a positive learning climate, providing constructive feedback, maintaining confidentiality, adhering to school policies and ethics, utilizing technology appropriately, and serving on Site Base committees while performing other duties as assigned by the principal.

- Present accurate and factual information during instruction
- Connect content knowledge to real-world applications
- Plans instruction that develops students' abilities to use communication skills
- Plans instruction that allows the student to apply core concepts
- Plans instruction that enables students to become self-sufficient individuals
- Plans instruction that enables students to become responsible team members
- Plans instruction that enables students to think and solve problems
- Follows the guidelines of the school for lesson plan format
- Developing appropriate assessment strategies
- Maintains up-to-date records of student progress
- Communicates student assessment to students and parents
- Attends required Professional Development sessions
- Maintains a Professional Growth Plan
- Attends all teachers meetings as directed by the principal
- Supervision of students at all times
- Maintaining all appropriate student records
- Representative on Site Base committees
- Performs other duties assigned by the principal consistent with responsibilities becoming a teacher
