Job Summary
Plan and deliver learning experiences that advance each student’s learning; design authentic experiences to teach core knowledge and 21st-century skills through collaboration, problem-based learning, inquiry, and curriculum integration; help students meet or exceed academic standards; develop differentiated instructional strategies; contribute to curriculum outlines and guided study plans; engage community and business partners in curriculum development; utilize technology to build content knowledge and skills; use evidence-based assessment and feedback to improve instruction; foster a classroom environment conducive to learning and positive social interaction; coordinate with LPDC on IPDP; maintain communication with families; support student pathways including dual enrollment and post-secondary options; promote student outcomes and alignment with OST and CTE assessments; operate kitchen laboratories per industry standards; manage inventories and reporting; comply with district and accreditation requirements.
Required Qualifications
- Currently hold a Family and Consumer Science (FCS) teaching license issued by the state of Ohio, OR
- Currently hold a Career Technical Education (CTE) teaching credential where you are eligible to teach courses in the Culinary (L0) or Hospitality (L1) pathways; OR
- Be eligible for acquiring a teaching license in the FCS or Culinary pathways, as documented by a current CTE-36, with eligibility requirements including: Bachelor's Degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts with at least two years of related work experience; OR Associate's degree in Hospitality or Culinary Arts with at least three years of related work experience; OR High School Diploma or equivalent with at least five years of related work experience
- Be a current teacher who is eligible to acquire the FCS supplemental teaching license by currently holding a valid Ohio resident educator, professional, permanent, or five-year CTE license; A Baccalaureate degree; Passing score on the FCS content-knowledge exam
- Employment contingent upon successful completion of the FCS content-knowledge exam and issuance of an FCS supplemental teaching license.
- New Hires working under the supplemental license will need to complete at least 2 years of mentored teaching in FCS.
- Obtain and keep current all instructional standards certifications, credentials or designations required by the state for career technical funding.
- Meet all district requirements for entry-year teachers, including the Four-Year Resident Educator and/or PAR requirements.
- Meet the State of Ohio CTE Quality Program Standards criteria
- Willing to attend the required third-party curriculum training.
