Job Summary
Family & Community Advocate within Yakama Nation Head Start. Primary duties include managing the ERSEA intake process, determining eligibility and enrollment, documenting enrollment and health/family information, compiling attendance data, data-entry and reporting using an online database, and conducting recruitment to maintain enrollment. Responsibilities also include partnering with families to set individualized goals, guiding access to community services, and communicating with diverse families with empathy and professionalism. The role requires collaboration with staff, attending trainings/meetings, maintaining records, monitoring attendance, and supporting family partnership activities and referrals for services, transportation, and other resources. Knowledge of Head Start standards, Yakama Nation culture, and ability to travel to centers and family homes is expected.
Required Qualifications
- Associate Degree in related field or equivalent required
- One year of experience with Head Start or social services program with direct interactions with families and children
- Current First Aid/CPR certification or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Current food handler's card or ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
- Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or related field or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
- Enrolled Yakama Preference; all qualified applicants encouraged to apply
- Must pass pre-employment background check
- Must possess valid Washington State Driver's License with ability to obtain Yakama Nation Driving permit
- Must pass pre-employment drug test
