Job Summary
Support, empower, and advocate for children and families living in poverty by identifying strengths and barriers, formulating action plans, and coordinating services to meet individual needs. Partner with program staff and community resources to provide a continuum of care, conducting home visits and managing crisis situations while maintaining confidentiality. Assess individual and family strengths using a person-centered approach, develop plans for self-sufficiency, and facilitate access to resources covering sobriety, education, employment, health, and financial literacy. This Full-Time, 40-hour/week position (32 hours in summer) is based in Park Rapids, MN, with travel required within the service area. Candidates must hold a Bachelor's degree in Human Services or related field, possess one year of direct family/child experience, and demonstrate knowledge of family systems, trauma-informed practices, and historical inequities.
Required Qualifications
- Four (4) year degree (BA or BS) in Human Services or related field
- At least one year working directly with families and children in human services
- Knowledge of family systems (including children, youth, parents, seniors, and chosen family)
- Knowledge of the impact of historical and contemporary inequities
- Knowledge of cultural difference
- Knowledge of trauma-informed practices
- Familiarity with community resources to support a wide range of goals; sobriety, education, employment, health and wellness, and financial literacy
- Exceptional professionalism
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships which encourage families to talk comfortably about their setbacks, accomplishments, and goals
- Ability to use a person-centered approach to assess individual and family strengths
- Ability to develop plans
