Job Summary
Family Coach (Temp, Part-Time) will develop trusting relationships with families through home visits (in-person and virtual), family events, and referrals to external resources. The role uses the Parents as Teachers (PAT) curriculum and culturally responsive coaching to focus on parent-child interaction, development-centered parenting, and family well-being. The Family Coaches will collaborate to serve culturally diverse families in Ramsey and Hennepin Counties (potentially a few in Dakota County). The position is eligible for a hybrid schedule with travel to family homes or community sites and requires a vehicle, license, and auto insurance. Responsibilities include recruiting families for the program, conducting home visits (biweekly or monthly) across various settings, completing screenings and assessments, developing and monitoring goals, facilitating monthly family connections, building partnerships with community resources, ensuring timely documentation and supervision, pursuing ongoing professional development, and participating in quality improvement activities. The role may involve occasional evenings/weekends, and candidates should be prepared for office and fieldwork environments. The ideal candidate will have two years of related education or equivalent experience, with bilingual capability in Somali or Spanish preferred, and a willingness to work in a hybrid, travel-enabled position.
Required Qualifications
- Two years of education in early childhood education, social work, health, psychology, or a related field is recommended (or equivalent degree outside of the US)
- OR two years supervised work experience with young children and/or parents within a community setting
- Preferred bilingual – Somali or Spanish
