Job Summary
Manage a caseload of families and conduct home visits within Early Head Start in East New York, Brooklyn. Participate in parent/specialist conferences and activities; take on program-wide responsibilities such as annual events and parent/child groups. Develop consistent, stable, and supportive relationships with families and children; assess family needs and child developmental status; develop individualized family/child plans and provide services based on those plans. Work closely with families on specific issues, provide referrals and follow-ups with service providers, deliver workshops to families and staff, assist in recruiting families, assist in developing the Policy Council and other parent support groups, and maintain proper documentation on families and children. This role is full-time, Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:00pm (35 hours/week). A CDA or related coursework as part of an Associate’s degree or higher is required, with knowledge of child development birth to three; prior experience with families is preferred.
Required Qualifications
- CDA or related coursework as part of an Associate’s degree or above in Early Childhood Education, Social Work, Human Development or related field
- Knowledge of child development birth to three
- Experience working with families in a supportive and empowering environment preferred
