Family Center Specialist - Open to Kern High School District Regular Employees Only -

As a Family Center Specialist at Kern Valley High School, you will act as a liaison between the district, schools, and families to promote meaningful family engagement in students' education. You will plan, organize, and deliver family engagement programs and events (workshops, trainings, meetings, college trips) and connect families to district and community services. You will collaborate with school staff to reach underrepresented groups (e.g., migrant, McKinney-Vento, families of students with disabilities), collect and analyze data on family needs, and communicate effectively with parents/guardians, school personnel, and public agencies. The role requires strong interpersonal and organizational skills, the ability to work with diverse communities, and the capacity to shift hours to support events and activities. A valid California driver’s license and compliance with criminal history checks and medical assessment are required. The position emphasizes equity, integrity, collaboration, and accountability in supporting students’ educational progress.
