Job Summary
Family Case Manager in Indiana responsible for protecting children and families from abuse/neglect, developing and implementing case plans, conducting home visits, coordinating with community resources, testifying at court hearings, and supporting kinship and foster care initiatives. Core duties include conducting investigations/assessments, creating discharge/transition plans, monitoring service providers, and ensuring permanency through reunification, guardianship, or adoption while maintaining thorough documentation and reporting. Requires advanced knowledge of child welfare and family services, strong communication skills, and the ability to work with diverse families; degree not required but significant human services experience preferred. The role is based in Greencastle, serving Putnam County and surrounding areas.
Required Qualifications
- A degree is not required but at least 4 years of human services experience in a similar role may be considered
- Must maintain a valid Driver's license
- Advanced knowledge of social work principles and practices; familiarity with state and federal laws affecting child protection and foster care
- Ability to investigate and interview alleged victims and perpetrators of child abuse or neglect; ability to prepare clear reports and testimony for Juvenile Court
