Family Care Coordinator / Metro Atlanta, GA - $3,000 Sign-on-Bonus

Job Summary
Coordinate hospital referrals and evaluate potential organ/tissue donors by applying LifeLink policies to document next-of-kin interviews, honor designations, and determine suitability. Conduct physical assessments, review patient charts, and initiate donor charts while obtaining serology testing and HLA typing. Approve authorization requests by approaching families with consent forms, then notify vascular coordinators and provide follow-up with hospital liaisons. Participate in 24/7 call schedule rotations and travel regularly by automobile or air. Requires a current driver's license, two years of experience in a medical or social services environment, and availability for emergency backup coverage.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of two years in a related field and appropriate experience in a medical environment or social services field
- Availability to handle rotation of 24/7 call responsibilities and a work schedule that may require response to emergency back-up call coverage
- Availability for automobile and/or air travel on a regular basis
- Current driver license with good verifiable driving record
Desired Qualifications
- Clinical experience a plus
- Medical degree/certification a preferred
- Previous experience as Clinical Counselor, Bereavement Counselor, Healthcare Advocate, Funeral Director, Social Worker, Case Manager, Family Counselor a plus
- Demonstrated above average interactive verbal communication skills
