Job Summary
The FIT Family Partner role involves providing hands-on support to youth under 21 with Serious Emotional Disturbance (SED), assisting caregivers in advocacy, skill building, and navigating the mental health system. Responsibilities include coaching families, connecting them to resources, participating in meetings with the treatment team, maintaining case records, and managing a caseload of 5-6 families through regular contact. Candidates should possess personal experience related to the target population, with a focus on effective communication and community navigation skills.
Required Qualifications
- Personal experience as a parent/caregiver navigating child, family, or behavioral health systems
- Experience advocating for family members
- Excellent written and communication skills
- Computer literate with the ability to learn new software applications
Desired Qualifications
- Fluency in a second language (e.g. Spanish, Haitian Creole)
- Experience with CBHI services
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care service delivery and family systems theory
