Job Summary
Develop and deliver instructional programs for secondary Family and Consumer Science, aligning with WV content standards; plan lessons, prepare instructional materials, and provide individualized/small-group instruction; maintain records and communicate student progress with parents; manage classroom environment and safety; coordinate conferences and adhere to school policies; may plan co-curricular activities and participate in program improvements; requires a Bachelor’s degree and valid teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement; strong communication and differentiated instruction skills; ability to assess student performance and meet the needs of diverse learners.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college and university
- Valid teaching certificate licensing the individual to teach in the specializations and grade levels of the assigned endorsement area
- Criminal background check conducted pursuant to WV Code §18A-3-10 and related provisions
- Knowledge of and ability to differentiate instruction and assess student performance
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, staff, and parents
- Ability to be flexible and manage multiple demands
- Regular on-time attendance and adherence to school safety procedures
- Experience in planning and implementing instructional programs and co-curricular activities
- Supervisory references available on request
