Family and Consumer Science - Jefferson

Teach Family and Consumer Science to high school students (grades 9-12) at Jefferson High School. Develops and implements classroom programming aligned with state and local curriculum; participates in Career & Technical Student Organization activities; maintains program facilities and equipment; maintains inventory; adheres to state guidelines; communicates with stakeholders including advisory boards; integrates vocational English into daily lessons for limited English-speaking students; supports student achievement with teachers and staff; assists in planning social/emotional/behavioral school-wide programming; maintains records and protects data; meets Iowa Teaching Standards and related criteria; regular on-site attendance; collaborates with principal, counselor, staff, parents, and students. Requires Iowa certification and 5-12 Family and Consumer Science endorsement; previous related experience preferred as part of the credentialing/authorization process. The role is described as on-site, with expectations to work at Jefferson High School under Cedar Rapids Community School District policies.
