Job Summary
The Family and Community Engagement Coordinator acts as a liaison between the district, schools, and families to promote effective home/school partnerships.Responsibilities include informing parents about district procedures and staff roles; maintaining logs of parent contact activities; planning and delivering workshops and events to support student success; coordinating workshops, curriculum nights, and outreach with teachers, Academic Officers, and administrators; connecting families with community resources; arranging transportation as requested; communicating district activities and procedures to parents; conducting personal outreach via various modalities; researching and coordinating parent engagement materials; participating in outreach events and ensuring records of participation and results are accurate; developing and executing programs to strengthen school-family relationships and advocate for student/family needs; maintaining confidentiality; and participating in Community Engagement Council and district improvement efforts.Professional development is required via monthly meetings.
Required Qualifications
- Must be the parent of a current student or former student in the West Bolivar Consolidated School District
- Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills
- Holds a valid driver's license
- Relates well to people of all ethnic groups
- Demonstrates strong organizational skills
- Is trustworthy and dependable
