Family and Community Coordinator - Michigan Connections Academy

Job Summary
Coordinate new parent contacts, orientations, and trainings while developing the school's family engagement action plan. Assist with student truancy and engagement issues, and organize "Club Orange" activities to support parent-led school initiatives. Lead marketing plan implementation, manage family databases, and facilitate access to counseling and community resources. Act as a mediator to resolve conflicts between parents and staff, and build relationships with local community partners. Establish an environment where families feel safe to voice opinions and participate in competitive activities like spelling bees. Maintain records for pilot project evaluation and complete required professional development.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or commensurate experience
- Approximately 30% travel required
- Experience working with diverse communities
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent organizational skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage time well
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Experience in developing and/or leading workshops and trainings
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Michigan Residency
