Family Advocate - Van Wert

Work with families to assess their strengths and support them in setting and meeting individual and family goals. Guide families toward healthy self-reliance and nurture positive relationships as they prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Use Head Start/Early Head Start tools to identify obstacles, recruit and enroll eligible families, and develop rapport through ongoing interactions. Initiate Family Strengths Assessments and Family Partnership Agreements, and provide ongoing support to help families achieve identified goals. Practice real-time data entry to ensure program integrity, partner with local community resources, advocate for families, and guide them to health and dental homes. Assist families in accessing services, crisis intervention, and continued support. Collaborate with teachers to ensure seamless communication, co-facilitate Parent Meetings and Family Fun Nights, and participate in planning activities. Within 18 months of hire, obtain a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling, or a related field (CORS may provide in-house credentialing or cover study costs). If no related degree or credential is held at hire, 2 years of social services experience is required. Must have a valid driver’s license and be knowledgeable about drug culture in our communities.
