Job Summary
Work with families to assess strengths and support them in setting and meeting individual and family goals. Guide families toward healthy self-reliance and prepare children for successful transitions to kindergarten and beyond using Head Start/Early Head Start tools. Recruit, enroll, and maintain eligible families; build rapport; provide ongoing services; initiate Family Strengths Assessments and Family Partnership Agreements; perform real-time data entry to ensure program integrity; collaborate with teachers to ensure effective communications; plan and co-facilitate Parent Meetings and Family Fun Nights; advocate for families and connect them with local resources, including health screenings and access to medical and dental homes; support crisis interventions and continued services; ensure seamless program flow and compliance with background checks and required screenings; possess a valid driver’s license and ability to lift 40 lbs; demonstrate excellent interviewing and active listening skills; be knowledgeable about drug culture in the community.
Required Qualifications
- Minimum high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Within 18 months of hire, obtain a credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field (CORS may provide in-house credentialing or pay for a preapproved course).
- Associate’s degree in a related field (or Associate’s degree with at least 18 credits in related studies) preferred.
