Job Summary
Family Advocate position delivering quality, comprehensive child and family support services within Head Start. Responsibilities include case management, family engagement, partnerships, health coordination, and parent leadership; setting measurable goals with families; conducting meetings at center, home, or third-party locations; submitting monthly progress reports; coordinating family events and trainings; maintaining health documentation and CACFP compliance; assisting with enrollment and recruitment; using interpreter services when needed; building strong, trusting relationships with families and community partners; and supporting families through transitions from Head Start to Kindergarten. Requires valid driver’s license, CPR/First Aid certification, ability to work independently, bilingual skills preferred, and demonstrated professionalism in serving Head Start families.
Required Qualifications
- Credential or certification in social work, human services, family services, counseling or a related field (within 18 months of hire)
- Valid Driver’s License and access to a privately-owned vehicle with liability insurance
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Adult and Pediatric CPR and First Aid Certifications within 30 days from date of hire
- Bilingual in English and Spanish desirable, but not required
